BATTERSEA POWER STATION
With the first phase of the intervention – which began in July 2013 and will be ended, as planned, in 2025 -, the project for the qualification of this abandoned complex in central London will consecrate the zone as a new gravitational center of the Nine Elms area, on the south bank of the Thames.
The 17 hectares of the industrial area are destined to become an upscale neighborhood with nearly 4,000 homes, more than 250 shops, bars and restaurants, office space and leisure and over 7 hectares of public space. Among the names involved in the project, those of Gehry Partners and Foster + Partners.
THE NEW US EMBASSY FINDS HOME IN KIERAN TIMBERLAKE'S CUBE
The new US Embassy in London is located in the district of Nine Elms, on the banks of the Thames, where there will take place the crystalline Cube designed by the American architecture Kieran Timberlake of Philadelphia (Pennsylvania).
The laying of the foundation stone took place in 2013 and the goal is to complete the construction of the huge clear glass cube, welcoming and sustainable thanks to the many parks that surround it, by 2017.
